Alison Parratt Unfortunately lots of french restaurants don't know what vegetarian means ! I would try the indian restaurants where he can order a vegetable curry with rice. We recently tried a new (for us) one in rue des Vieilles Douves (off place Royale) and it was very good.

Esther Young Try organic restaurants/cafés, which would usually have at least one vegetarian option! I went to L'ile verte which was okay and somebody told me about la Dinette d'Annette, which is near Rond point de Rennes (not very central)....

Zoe Lacey Resto revue, tiny restaurant near the cathedral. Lots of vegetable dishes but meat dishes too. It's surprisingly cheap too

Sue Alouche Tablo Gourmande does some nice tartines, tarts and salads and there are some vegetarian selections amongst them I think http://www.tablo-gourmand.com/restaurant/sugestions
